QHSE Specialist

Job Description

For our fastgrowing client (Uber) we are looking for an QHSE Specialist. You monitor injury, illness, and incident related performance within the geographical / contractual area of responsibility. You will also monitor performance for trends or other indicators of improving or degrading incident performance, and develop and implement strategic solutions that will improve the performance results as required.

As a QHSE specialist you act as a resource to staff and internal customers as the HSE Subject Matter Expert. You provide direct and timely advise and information to the management in all matters related to HSE performance, compliance, trends, and concerns. You implement all corporate HSE initiatives, and communicate all corporate HSE priorities in a manner that effectively drives program consistency and effectiveness across the account.

You oversee the specific HSE plans, playbooks, and procedures to make certain they are current, complete, and effectively implemented. You also monitor HSE regulatory compliance and communicate all findings, concerns, and deficiencies to the responsible managers to effect timely and necessary corrections.

Besides this, you develop and implement strategic solutions that will support management's efforts to improve and maintain compliance as required, you identify opportunities to reduce costs while enhancing quality of services and respond to client employee concerns regarding HSE matters.

You support compliance and the Principles of Responsibility (Client Code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and client policies and procedures.

Specific Duties:

  • You assist Global EHS Manager in developing EHS programs in developing comprehensive HSE programs through reviewing, analysis, evaluation of procedures to control, eliminate and prevent accidents, injuries and illnesses.
  • You conduct audits and risk assessments to identify existing or potential hazards; determine corrective action or preventive measures, and follow up on implementation of corrective action
  • You conduct HSE compliance audit and gap analysis to determine areas for improvement
  • You develop, implement and promote occupational safety and health programs in the workplace
  • You advise and assist the employer in complying with the local occupational safety and health regulations, including reporting requirements

What do you have to offer to CBRE?

  • Bachelors degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of European health and safety, and environmental regulations is essential.
  • Direct experience dealing with regulatory agencies and / or compliance officers is required.
  • Experience working in any one or multiples of the following is essential: Chemical processing and refining environments, manufacturing, food processing, pharmaceutical / biotechnology, construction, heavy industry, and facility maintenance and management.
  • Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate complex figures and the ability to forecast and prepare budgets
